What I collect
When you use the contact form I receive the name, email address, optional website and project description you type in, and the type of work you select. To protect the form from abuse I also store a one-way hash of your IP address (not the address itself), your browser's user agent and a reCAPTCHA score.
How I use it
Only to read and reply to your inquiry and to keep the form free of spam. I do not sell your details, add you to a mailing list or share them with anyone except the services described below.
Services involved
- Google reCAPTCHA checks that form submissions come from a person. Google's Privacy Policy and Terms of Service apply.
- Cloudflare delivers this website and may process visitor traffic data to do so.
- Inquiries are stored in a private database on my own server and read through a password- and authenticator-protected admin area. They are not forwarded by email. If I reply from the admin area, a copy of my reply is stored with your entry. An optional alert may tell me that a new entry exists, without including your details.
Visit statistics
I use Google Analytics (GA4) to understand which pages are useful and how visitors find this site. It records page views, approximate location, device and browser type, and whether you used the contact form or clicked my email link; it does not receive what you type into the form. Google Analytics sets cookies on your device. If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland it only loads after you accept, and you can change your mind by clearing this site's data in your browser. It also does not load if your browser sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control. Google's explanation of how it uses data applies.
Alongside it I keep simple counts on my own server, with no cookies. For each page view I keep the page, the website you came from, your country (provided by Cloudflare), a rough device and browser type, and a one-way hash of your IP address and browser that changes every day. That hash only lets me count unique visitors within a single day; it cannot be linked across days or turned back into your IP address, and I never store the IP address or browser string itself. I also count clicks on my email link and whether the contact form was started. I respect Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control, ignore my own visits, and delete these statistics after 400 days.
Cookies
This site does not set its own cookies or use advertising trackers. Google Analytics (see above), Google reCAPTCHA and Cloudflare may use cookies or similar technologies as described in their policies.
Keeping and deleting your data
I keep inquiries as long as needed to respond and for my records. To see or delete what I hold about you, email jeromeaparece@yahoo.com from the address you used and I will do it.
